The Neighborhood Association has been in existance since 1994 when a group of 250 residents met at Atwood McDonald Elementary to discuss recent developments in the apartment complexes on Handley Drive. Officers were elected and the association began with new members and a goal of helping a neighborhood grow and at the same time keeping their residents informed of current events and happenings in the area.
The original boundaries of Ryanwood NA were from I820 on the West, Sandy Lane on the East, Meadowbrook Drive on the South and Brentwood Stair on the North. At the October 2008 meeting, the boundaries were amended to include the area North of Brentwood Stair to Ederville. Several of the residents from this area had petitioned the board to be included in this Association.
